Sister of the Week: Marissa Galang

"I nominate Marissa Galang as the sister of the week. When I first came to UK last semester I was very nervous about meeting new people. Although most of my high school came here, my best friends went to a different college and I felt as if I had no one. So I went through sorority recruitment because I wanted to find some close friends. And after bid day I was nervous that no one would really want to be my friend. Luckily all the girls were very nice and would invite me to things, but I still felt a little awkward not really knowing anyone. Then came my first Caturday. We weren't able to have the tent at the bowl so I was on my phone trying to make plans. I asked around and Marissa invited me to hang with her. So I went and had a blast! Me and Marissa talked and figured out that our high schools were rivals and that we both played lacrosse. I'm so glad she invited me to go to Caturday with her because now she is one of my best friends and we do a lot together. Thanks Marissa!!"
