In the fall of 2016, I hit a rough patch. I had moved off campus and wasn't involved on campus nearly as much as I had been my freshman year. I felt alone without a core community and really considered moving back home.
My first year at the University of Kentucky, I hadn't really had a desire to get involved with Greek Life, but over the summer as an orientation leader for UK, I worked with a diverse group of people and the majority of them were in a sorority or fraternity. After seeing how much they enjoyed being in the greek community and realizing how much I wanted another community, I decided to sign up for Continuous Open Bidding.
I met with other sororities but I kept remembering just how nice every AOII was that I had spoken to or knew around campus. I had never felt more comfortable with a group of women that I had just met. It seemed like everyone genuinely cared about me and what I had to say. I knew that Alpha Omicron Pi was where I belonged on the first night of COB.
