When I went through recruitment I found a new house that I loved every day and then the next day they would not be on my list. The hardest part of recruitment for me was remembering that each of the Greek chapters know their chapter better than the Potential New Members do. Every day I would get my schedule and I was cut from more houses I would wonder what I was doing wrong or if Greek life was even for me.
On Preference Day, I went to two houses and it wasn't until I walked out of the AOII house that I knew my decision. If I could go back and tell myself what I know now, I would say to trust the process and be confident in yourself. Confidence is something I have struggled with and recruitment was not any different. It is awkward and uncomfortable to talk to so many strangers in one week but going through recruitment and joining AOII was one of the best decisions I have made. So to incoming PNMs, be yourself, have an open mind, remember everything happens for a reason and most importantly have fun recruitment doesn't have to be so serious!
