For me, it all started with preference night at AOII where a recruiter/active was to give a letter to a PNM about their personal why AOII story, what kept them at AOII, or if they knew the PNM a letter about why they would be a great AOII.
My letter was written by a close family friend of mine. She was always like a honorary big sister of mine growing up throughout middle and high school. So when she handed me my letter and the first words where something like “Dear Erin, You have grown up to be an amazing young woman.” I refused to read any more of it and become a blubbering mess of a human being. So I told her to give it to me later.
The rest of my preference conversation was interesting to say the least, but that’s a different story. Ever since that day, my why AOII story has become more of a why I stayed in AOII. From the friendships I have formed to the confidence I have gained, I would never change going AOII. *cross arms, mic drop*
Lay, right, throw the Alpha Love sign with President Kelly Alford.
